I was recently informed by a naturopath that I have a build-up of plastics and plasticizers in my body. While he is an amazing practitioner and has a process to help with detoxing, it has me astonished about how a body and mind made for a natural world can be so constantly bombarded by all that is unnatural. Detoxing seems to be less of a moment in time thing these days, and more of a continual process. Plastic food, plastic air, plastic jobs, plastic greetings when we meet people, plastic beauty, plastic love and plastic relationships. All that is perfectly measured, preserved and labeled ends up toxic sludge in our veins and keeps us from a healthy and true existence in alignment with the cosmos. What would it mean to live in a clean way, that leaves no toxic residue in our bodies and our minds? May we purge all that is plastic, so that we can experience the health, relationships, and world that we all so richly deserve.
