To kill or not to kill
That is the question
Yet there is no such thing
As killing just one

Poisoning a mouse
Also kills the chipmunk
And the owl

The means by which
A dandelion
Perishes
Also flows into the water
Our food
The air in which we breathe

Crop nuisances
Interrupting that perfect yield
Yet the soil erodes
Along with the nutrients

What is truly invasive?
A dandelion?
Or the cancer that grows each year?

I will side with the inconvenience
Of the dandelion
The nettles
The mullein

The mouse
The bees
The butterflies
And seven generations
Beyond them
